The Cornerstone of Care Campaign for the redevelopment of Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) will be remembered as the most important health care initiative to take place in our city and region in our lifetime. The campaign was launched in 2005 with a goal of $100 million to support the redevelopment of the HHS family of hospitals. It was to be the single largest health care fundraising campaign both in the history of our hospitals and in our region.
HHS made history on December 5, 2006, when officials announced that the Cornerstone of Care campaign had surpassed its goal, raising more than $102,000,000! In total, an investment of more than $300 million will strengthen five major project areas: cancer care, family and children’s health, rehabilitation, research, and cardiac care.
